You know that feeling? When you know you are not alone? Not the creepy one, where you keep looking over your shoulder because it feels like someone is stalking you. But the sense that you are not the only person whose thoughts and doubts are churning like so much undigested food inside your soul. That perhaps someone else like you is wrestling within her own heart, over pain and loyalty and love, in regards to her parents and their teachings about the Bible.
If only you had the courage to speak to her.
This is why Recovering Daughters has sprung to life. Here is a safe place for you to read the stories of your fellow sisters who have walked through the dark valley: the teachings of Vision Forum, Stay at Home Daughters, NCFIC, authoritarian parenting, and the like.
We are here to share our journeys of healing, of sorting Truth from twisted Scriptures, and how the love of Jesus is restoring our souls.
We are here for each other, and for you. Perhaps you have already crossed the bridge to freedom and realized that God was right there with you, on the other side. Maybe you have never left your parents’ household and are grappling with the sense that something just is not right.
You are not alone.
Here there is Hope.

We at Recovering Daughters are not mental health professionals. Many of us have found counseling to be a significant part of the healing process. We encourage you to consider this for yourself, and to remember that sometimes it takes several tries before you find a counselor that is the right fit for you.
